Fiordland – Doubtful Sound

ds15

Second largest fiord of Fiordland National Park’s 14 fiords (after Dusky Sound as the largest fiord), it is 3 times longer than Milford Sound and a sea surface area 10 times larger than Milford Sound with 3 arms – Hall, Crooked and First. Doubtful Sound reaches 430m at its maximum depth. Its water temperature is around 11 – 15 degrees Celcius. Mountains peaks, fiords and rainforest in Doubtful Sound is a home to wide variety of bird and marine life, including bottlenose dolphins, fur seals, fiordland crested penguins and blue penguins (credit to Real Journeys and DK Eyewitness Travel New Zealand). I came to Doubtful Sound during my summer holiday 2015 and fell in love with the spectacular beauty of Doubtful Sound. I met some dolphins as well but my camera is not good enough to catch their pictures. Overall it is an amazing journey.
